SNOWBIRD POTENTILLA Potentilla fruiticosa 'Snowbird' Various forms of this hardy shrub are native on the prairies. The Snowbird Potentilla is an introduction from the University of Manitoba. Its small compact form and long blooming season make it very desirable. Small Shrub: Height 60 to 75cm (2 to 2.5ft). Foliage: Fine textured compound leaves. Flowers: Pure white; blooms over a very long season. Fruit: Not significant. Comments: The potentillas work well where a small shrub that doesn't need shearing is required. The Snowbird Potentilla is a very reliable performer in our area. Although somewhat slow to green up in the spring this plant is very showy all summer long. | |||||||||
