SUPERB PLUM Fruit: -3.5 to 4 cm;-matures in late August and early September; -flesh is yellow, sweet, very juicy; -clingstone; -skin is dark red, thin, mild, but slightly bitter; -excellent for fresh eating; -good for canning and good for jam-good for jam; -stores well. Pollination: There is considerable confusion about Hybrid plum requirements but it is known that the native Canada Plum is an effective pollinizer. Tree: Moderately vigorous, upright, and spreading. Hardy: To zone 2a. Comments: This plum was developed at the University of Saskatchewan. Sometimes sold under the name Perfection. | |||||||||
