GREEN ASH Fraxinus pensylvanica The Green Ash is widely used as a tall shade tree and boulevard tree. It is native to our area and, thus, very hardy and reliable. It's a real landscape workhorse. Shade tree: Height 12m (40ft). Foliage: Leaves are born in groups of seven. Forms a dense canopy. Fruit: Each tree is male or female. Only the female trees bear seeds that usually stay on the tree over winter and constitute a food supply for some birds. Fall Colour: Yellow.
