#1 CRABAPPLE Fruit: -Small, about 1.25 inches;-green skin washed with red on the sunny side; -flesh is creamy white, crisp, juicy, and tart; -great for fresh eating, lunch boxes, and excellent for canning whole; -stores for 6 weeks; -ripens in Early September. Tree: Round headed, semi-dwarf tree with a good branching habit.Comments: This is one of those trees that is not positively identified. We had it in our yard on a rented property and thoroughly enjoyed it year after year. It is one of very few trees that produce a good crab which is the right size for canning whole. | |||||||||
