MOUNTAIN ASH Sorbus Seedlings The Mountain Ash is widely recognised for its dark green leaves, its fragrant and showy white flowers, its scarlet fruit and its outstanding fall colour. There is probably no other tree which adds more interest to the landscape. Small tree: Height 6m (20ft). Foliage: Dark green leaves are alternate and compound. Flowers: White in large showy clusters, very fragrant. Fruit: Scarlet berries in large terminal clusters. Very showy. Attracts birds during fall and winter. Fall Colour: Deep orange/red. Comments: Even the bark is shiny brown. These trees will be somewhat variable because they are open pollinated seed. | |||||||||
