AMUR MAPLE Acer ginnala This small, globe-shaped tree is valued for its colourful fruit and brilliant orange/red fall colour. Shade tree: Height 4m (13ft). Foliage: Three lobed leaves often have red petioles and veins. Flowers: Small greenish yellow clusters are not conspicuous. Fruit: Each two winged fruit resembles a miniature lobster claw. Becomes very showy in August when the margins become bright red. Fall Colour: Outstanding. Brilliant oranges and reds. Comments: This tree will have you waiting for fall. Makes a good filler for the off corner of the front yard. It is sometimes treated as a large shrub. | |||||||||
