MEYER LILAC Syringa meyeri
Also called: KOREAN DWARF LILAC, LITTLE LEAF LILAC
This dwarf lilac is truly exceptional in any shrub border. The pinkish purple buds and bright pink flowers are carried over the whole plant from top to bottom. The form is naturally neat and compact. No suckers.
Flowering Shrub: Height to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft.) with dense foliage and close branching.
Foliage: Dark green, medium fine texture.
Flowers: Pinkish purple buds, bright pink flowers. Very fragrant. Flowers from top to bottom.
Comments: This seldom seen lilac is worthy of much wider use. Even after the flowers are spent, it is a bright green tidy foliage plant. Because of its small size, it works well in most shrub borders.
