GARLAND SPIREA Spirea x arguta The Garland Spirea is a somewhat larger spirea with fine textured grey green foliage. Although this is most showy white spirea when it is in bloom, it has a tendency to become leggy and somewhat stiff in appearance. Shrub: Height 1m (3ft). Foliage: Grey green, fine textured. Flowers: White, free flowering and very showy in early spring. Flowers are born on arching branches of the previous season's wood. Comments: Great for foundation plantings, mass planting, or as an accent in the small garden. | |||||||||
