THREE-LOBED SPIREA Spirea trilobata The Three-Lobed Spirea is a small compact shrub with fine textured dark green foliage. This is probably the finest of the spireas. It has a very neat growth habit and even the spent flowers are carried in an attractive way. It is fully hardy. Shrub: Height 75cm (2.5ft). Foliage: Dark green, fine textured. Flowers: The whitest of the spireas. Flowers appear mid June to early July. The spent flowers stay on the plant and have a clean rust brown colour. Comments: Great for foundation plantings, mass planting, or as an accent in the small garden. When the design calls for white flowers, there is nothing finer. Unfortunately, the white flowering spireas are often confused with one another, even by nurseryman, and many non hardy plants have given this fine plant a bad name. | |||||||||
