GOLDFRIED POTENTILLA Potentilla fruiticosa 'Goldfried'
Various forms of this hardy shrub are native on the prairies. The Goldfried Potentilla is a small compact shrub that is valued for its yellow flowers which are on display for most of the summer.
Small Shrub: Height 75cm (2.5ft).
Foliage: Fine textured compound leaves.
Flowers: Bright yellow; not as profuse as Coronation Triumph but the flowers are bigger--up to one inch across.
Fruit: Not significant.
Comments: The potentillas work well where a small shrub that doesn't need shearing is required.
