SWEETBERRY HONEYSUCKLE Lonicera caerulea var. edulis The Sweetberry Honeysuckle is a medium sized shrub which is not subject to the aphid problems associated with many of the ornamental honeysuckles. Flowering Shrub: Height to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft.) with stiff arching branches. Retains a compact shape when grown in adequate light. Foliage: Green, oblong leaves, medium texture. Flowers: Yellowish white, not very showy. Fruit: Small oblong berries of unique flavour but rarely produced in abundance. Comments: This is a reliable filler plant that is drought tolerant once established. It is also great for the sheared hedge. | |||||||||
