DWARF BURNING BUSH Euonymus nanus 'Turkestanicus' This delightful little shrub is named for its fall foliage colour. Because of its somewhat sprawling habit, it is best used as a background plant in a setting where its fall color will be appreciated. Shrub: Height 60cm (2ft). Foliage: Dark green; linear; and semi-evergreen. Flowers: Not significant although the colourful fruit is often mistaken for the flowers. Fruit: Bright red seeds are born in half inch clear pink capsules that resemble miniature lanterns. These will always be a topic of conversation is the plants are located close to a seating area. Fall Colour: Outstanding. Pink to deep red. Comments: 'Turkestanicus' is much tidier that the species burning bush. | |||||||||
