SIBERIAN DOGWOOD Cornus
alba 'Siberica' The Siberian Dogwood is smaller than the other common dogwoods. Its bright red stems and large, bright green leaves, and outstanding fall colour make it an excellent addition to any yard. Shrub: Height 1.2 to 1.6 m (4 to 5 ft.) with compact, somewhat spreading form. Foliage: Course textured and green; outstanding, deep blood red colour in the fall. Flowers: Small white flowers which are born in good sized clusters which are quite showy. Fruit: Large clusters of bright blue to almost pure white coloured berries that are quite showy against the bright green foliage. Comments: The bright red stems are very showy in the winter. Its course texture contrasts nicely with the much finer texture of most smaller shrubs. | |||||||||
