GOLDEN DOGWOOD Cornus alba 'Gouchaultii' Although all dogwood shrubs grow naturally as under story plants, The Golden Dogwood will do well in bright sunny sites. It is valued for its yellow and green variegated foliage which looks 'golden' from a distance. Shrub: Height to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft.) with loose arching branches. Foliage: Large yellow and green variegated leaves give the plant a quite course texture. Leaves sometimes have a tinge of purple. Flowers: Yellowish white, not showy. Fruit: A small white berry which is not showy. Comments: In sunny sites, this shrub is quite compact and neat. In shady sites it does have a tendency to become leggy and somewhat looser. | |||||||||
