PEMBINA SASKATOON The familiar Saskatoon Berry! Tall upright shrub known for its flowering habit and unique fruit. Great for out of hand eating, pies, and preserves. Fruit Tree: Height 3m (10ft) Foliage: Dark green, canopy is frequently somewhat open. Flowers: Showy white born in mid May. This is the first common shrub in the wild to flower. Fruit: Large, fleshy and full flavoured. Comments: Thrives in almost any well drained soil. Because the 'Pembina' does not sucker freely, it often grows like a small tree. | |||||||||
