Supreme Plum
Prunus nigra x P. salicina 'Supreme'
Fruit:
-5cm (2in.), round;
-matures in late August;
-flesh is yellow, very juicy, sweet and mild;
-skin is golden yellow blushed with orange, very tender and thin with no
astringency or bitterness;
-excellent for fresh eating;
-very good for canning.
Pollination: There is considerable confusion about Hybrid plum requirements but it is known that the native Canada Plum is an effective pollinizer.
Tree: Medium size, upright, only slightly spreading and moderately vigorous.
Hardy: To zone 2.
