Patterson Pride Plum
Prunus nigra x P. salicina 'Patterson Pride'

Fruit: -4.5 cm, slightly flattened;
-matures in mid September;
-flesh is bright gold, firm, sweet, and juicy;
-freestone;
-skin is bright red with very light white bloom, thick, sour but not astringent;
-excellent for fresh eating;
-very good for freezing and very good for jam;
-good for canning and jelly and fair for pie.

Pollination: There is considerable confusion about Hybrid plum requirements but it is known that the native Canada Plum is an effective pollinizer.

Tree: Semi dwarf with weeping branches, heavy yielding.

Hardy: To zone 2.

Comments: Developed at the University of Saskatchewan. Released in 1960. Weeping form is unique among the plums. Latest to ripen of the hybrid plums.
