BISHOP'S GOUTWEED Aegopodium podograria This aggressive groundcover is very hardy; excellent for use under large shrubs and trees. Its unique foliage colour adds interest to the landscape. Perennial: Height; 0.3m (1ft). Comes fresh from spreading roots every spring. Foliage: Variegated white and green. Sometimes appears cream coloured from a distance. Strong accent value. Flowers: Compound umbrel of lacy white flowers. Not real showy. Fall Colour: Tops are killed by fall frost but the roots are very hardy. Comments: This plant works well with woody ornamentals and will frequently thrive in shady areas where nothing else will grow. It is, however, too aggressive to be used with more delicate perennials or annuals. | |||||||||
