JOHN PEAR The John Pear is a prairie hardy eating pear. The fruit is much more pear shaped than the Thomas Pear. The tree is also a bit more robust and faster growing. It is a great choice as a pollinator for the Thomas Pear. Medium Tree: Fast growing round headed tree to 7m (22 ft) height. Foliage: Course Texture, dark green foliage. Flowers: White, very profuse and showy. Fruit: A typical pear which is good for fresh eating, jams, and jellies. Comments: Although pear trees take somewhat longer to produce fruit than apples, they can be very rewarding. A truly unique addition for any garden. | |||||||||
