LAUREL-LEAF WILLOW Salix pentandra The Laurel-Leaf Willow is somewhat smaller than the Golden Willow and valued for its exceptional bright and shiny foliage. When well grown, each leaf looks as though it has been individually polished. Shade tree: Height 15m (50ft). Foliage: Four inch leaves are dark green and shiny above and somewhat duller below giving the whole tree a shimery appearance. Fall Colour: Yellow. Comments: The Laurel-Leaf Willow will also be as wide as it is tall. Because it has a short stout trunk with arching low branches it makes a great climbing tree. Like all willows, it requires adequate moisture. It is much more resistant to sun scald than all the other common willows. | |||||||||
