SIBERIAN WHITE WILLOW Salix alba 'Sericea' Also called: SILVER WILLOW The Siberian White Willow is often referred to as the Silver Willow. It is the only large growing tree with silver foliage that is fully hardy on the prairies. It is more upright than most willows Shade tree: Height 12m (40ft). Foliage: Strap shaped leaves are up to 4 inches long. The shiny, silver coloured leaves make this tree very unique. Up close and from a distance, this tree adds interest to the landscape. Fall Colour: Same as summer colour Comments: This is a great tree for adding interest to the larger yard. There are many striking specimens of this tree on the University of Saskatchewan Campus. | |||||||||
