CUTLEAF WEEPING BIRCH Betula pendula 'gracilis' This graceful tree is very fast growing. Its unique open "weeping" form makes it a very popular front yard tree. Shade tree: Height 15m (50ft). Foliage: Lacy, deeply cut leaves are born on long, thin, flexible branchlets. Bark: Bark is white and papery. A significant accent in any landscape. Fall Colour: Yellow. Comments: The Cutleaf Weeping Birch is cloned by grafting or tissue culture. These trees require adequate moisture. Trees grown in droughty conditions frequently succumb to the bronze birch borer. The birch leaf minor is only a minor annoyance with the Cutleaf Weeping Birch. | |||||||||
