NORKENT APPLE
Fruit: -Up to 2.5 inches;
-fruit is round to oblong;
-light green streaked and washed with various shades of red;
-moderately thick skin;
-flesh is greenish white, very crisp, juicy, and pleasantly aromatic;
-apple pear flavour similar to ‘Golden Delicious’;
-excellent for fresh eating, good for cooking and juice;
-stores for fourteen weeks;
-ripens in early September.
Tree: Semi dwarf round headed with thick sturdy branches.
Comments: This recent introduction (1990) has been a secret too well kept. It is highly recommended and worthy of much wider use. Completely hardy to Zone 2b.
