MINNESOTA #447 APPLE
Fruit: -Up to 2.5 inches;
-fruit is round with somewhat flattened ends;
-medium green striped with bronze red, thick skin;
-flesh is golden yellow, very firm, crisp, sweet and juicy;
-excellent for fresh eating, excellent for juice and sauce, good for cooking;
-exotic flavour with a hint of banana;
-excellent keeper, up to 10 months;
-ripens in mid October.
Tree: Moderately vigorous, semi dwarf, round headed tree with strong wide angled branching.
Comments: Introduced by the University of Minnesota in the 1950's. Worthy of much wider use. If you want fresh apples all winter, try this one.
