Tree: Round headed, semi-dwarf tree with a good branching habit.

Comments: The Chipman Crabapple is a great small crabapple for fresh eating, lunch boxes, and canning. Unlike many of the smaller crabs it maintains its crisp texture both on the tree and in storage. Although astringent, it is not sour once ripe. The best for canning whole.
